Ceremonies

We honor the sacredness of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with meaningful rituals and gatherings. Each are intentionally created to celebrate and honor your body, your baby, and your journey as a parent. These practices provide space for deep reflection and connection, helping you feel grounded, nurtured and held. Ceremonies can be tailored to your personal beliefs, family traditions, and cultural practices, creating a truly holistic and meaningful experience.

Ceremonies offered

  • A beautiful ceremony takes place, traditionally with the pregnant woman and her friends and family. It is similar to a baby shower, however this is more of a sacred and intentional journey, where the expectant mother is adorned with flowers, touched and embraced by the special women in her life. There is also a sharing circle, offering gratitude and love. The focus is placed more on the pregnant woman rather than on the baby, celebrating her and how she is being initiated into motherhood.

Depending on the amount of people present, the ceremony may be guided for 2 or 3 hours.

It is commonly done with only women, however the soon to be father can also be celebrated and shown love in the presence of men, not just women.

  • The 2-3 hour ceremony is offered during postpartum with the use of seven rebozos, a shawl that is traditionally used in Mexico. The ceremony celebrates the woman’s initiation and embodiment into motherhood. It allows the new mother to integrate her birth experience, to be seen, felt and nurtured by the special women in her life, whilst allowing her body to become realigned and balanced.

  • A ceremony will take place for about an hour, either with the extended family and close friends or just with the immediate family. The placenta will be buried in the garden under your favorite tree, or if you would like to buy a tree to plant you could also do this. Art can also be incorporated into the ceremony as a way to further connect with the placenta and it’s blood. A sharing circle will also take place to cultivate gratitude for the placenta that provided nourishment for your baby whilst being within the womb.
